SUMMARY
This nationally accredited course covers the skills and knowledge required to operate excavator operations to lift carry and replace materials.

DURATION
This is competency based but is normally a two-day course we commence every week between Wednesday to Friday. This course runs from 8:00am to 4:00pm.

CERTIFICATION
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment and a wallet size card ‘Competency ID Card’.

MINING EXCAVATOR
We also offer the RIIMPO301E Conduct hydraulic excavator operations which is required within coal mining, extractive and metalliferous mining sector.

The unit covers key features associated with operating an excavator, including: planning and preparing for excavator operations, selecting and wearing personal protective equipment, identifying hazards and environmental issues, assessing risks and implementing control measures, coordinating and communicating planned activities with others at the site, carrying out pre-start and start-up checks, identifying faults or defects and rectifying or reporting them, driving and operating the excavator using techniques suited to equipment capabilities, site and work conditions, monitoring hazards and risks during operations, and lifting, carrying, and placing materials to complete work activity.
