Industry Training Qld (Provider Number 30477) Townsville offers training for TLILIC0005 Licence to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length eleven metres or more)

SUMMARY
This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a boom-type Elevating Work Platform (EWP) where the length of the boom is eleven metres or more in accordance with all relevant legislative requirements. Competence in this unit, does not in itself result in a Risk Work Licence (HRWL) to operate this plant.

DURATION
This course is a 3-day course which runs fortnightly, Wednesday to Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm.

CERTIFICATION
On successful completion of this course students will be issued with a:

  • Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for TLILIC0005 Licence to Operate a Boom Type Elevating Work Platform (Boom Length 11 metres or more).
  • Interim High Risk Work Licence, valid for 60 days. Which allows you to operate an EWP whilst your submitted application is being processed by WorkSafe.

CERTIFICATION EXPIRY
Your Statement of Attainment does not have an expiry date; however, your High-Risk Work Licence expires every 5 years. You must not carry out high-risk work until your licence has been renewed.

LOGBOOK TRAINING
Logbook training is usually preferred by employers booking in their employees.

Logbook training requires the student to only come in on a Monday initially and do theory training and then the student will receive a logbook to take back to their workplace to complete the required number of hours. Once these hours are logged, the participant can then book in for a Wednesday assessment day. This also lowers the cost of the initial course.

FORMAL TRAINING
To be eligible for formal training participants must be able to provide an expired copy of their previous ticket.  After this has been provided, the participant will only have to complete a two-day course, attending on the Monday and Wednesday of the usual course we run weekly. This also lowers the cost of the initial course.
