Michael James

Director

Michael James is the Director of ITQ, bringing over 20 years of experience across the construction and training sectors. He began his career in construction and progressed through roles in sales before working his way into leadership, ultimately becoming Director of ITQ. Michael provides strategic direction to the organisation with a strong focus on industry relevance, quality training, and long-term outcomes for students and partners. Outside of work, he enjoys cricket, fishing, and a good conversation.

Tim Fleming

Training Manager

Tim Fleming is the Training Manager at ITQ, overseeing the delivery of training and assessment across the organisation. He began his career in aged care before moving into machinery operation for a farming contractor, followed by roles in welding and fabrication and local transport deliveries. Tim transitioned into training and assessment with ITQ in 2024 and now leads the training team, bringing a practical, cross-industry perspective to workforce development.

Stephen Mohamad

Trainer and Assessor

Stephen Mohamad is a Trainer and Assessor at ITQ and the organisation’s lead MC trainer. He began his career in civil construction as a labourer before progressing into machinery operation, heavy transport, and mining as an operator. Stephen later moved into supervisory, training and assessment, and management roles, building strong capability across industry and workforce development. He joined ITQ in 2019 and brings a practical, industry-led approach to training. Outside of work, he enjoys four-wheel driving, camping, and holidays.

Jonathan Ward

Trainer and Assessor

Jonathan Ward is a Trainer and Assessor at ITQ with experience across mechanical, mining, and transport industries. He began his career as a mechanic before moving into machine operation in mining, where he progressed into training and production supervision roles. Jonathan later transitioned into the transport sector and joined ITQ in 2022 as a Trainer and Assessor. He brings a practical, hands-on approach to training and, outside of work, enjoys tinkering, building, four-wheel driving, and training.

Ashley Miller

Administration Manager

Ashley Miller is the Administration Manager at ITQ, overseeing administrative operations and supporting the effective delivery of training services. She began her career in the construction industry in 2020 with Global Hire and joined ITQ in 2025. Ashley values the practical nature of the construction sector and is passionate about helping people achieve their goals through clear processes and reliable support.

Gabriela Martinez Flores

Administration Officer

Gabriela Martinez Flores is an Administration Officer at ITQ, supporting day-to-day operations and ensuring smooth administrative processes across the organisation. She began her career in 2019 at Chemist Warehouse before moving into the electrical industry with O’Brien Electrical in 2022. Gabriela joined ITQ in 2025, bringing strong organisational skills and a spicy, practical approach. Outside of work, she enjoys Pilates, reading, and good coffee.

Noel Phillips

Trainer and Assessor

Noel Phillips is a Trainer and Assessor at ITQ with a broad hands-on background across mechanical and trade-based industries. He began his career as a mechanic and has worked in auto electrical, fabrication, customer service, machinery operation, and transport and logistics. Noel joined ITQ in 2014 in a general support role before moving into training and assessment as a full-time Trainer and Assessor in 2015. He enjoys working with people who are looking to further their careers and, outside of work, enjoys camping and fishing.

Cameron Pearse

Trainer and Assessor

Cameron Pearse is a Trainer and Assessor at ITQ, with a background spanning transport and driver education. He began his career as a tyre fitter before moving into transport as a heavy combination driver, carting sugar cane with NDL Transport. Cameron completed his Certificate IV in Motor Vehicle Driver Training in 2020 and commenced work with the Graduates School of Motoring. He joined ITQ in 2023 as a Driver Trainer and has since completed his Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Outside of work, Cameron enjoys four-wheel driving, camping, and fishing.

Christopher Hancock

Trainer and Assessor

Christopher Hancock is a Trainer and Assessor at ITQ with over two decades of experience in the mining industry. He has worked across a wide range of mining roles, including training, supervision, machinery operation, and laboratory work, building a strong, practical understanding of industry operations. Christopher became a qualified Trainer and Assessor in January 2025 and brings a grounded, hands-on approach to training. Outside of work, he enjoys camping and tinkering.

Luigi Alfonsi

Trainer and Assessor

Luigi Alfonsi (Alfi) is a Trainer and Assessor at ITQ, bringing a diverse background across defence, policing, and vocational training. He began his career as a greenkeeper before joining the military as a transport operator, later moving into training roles over a 12-year defence career. Following his discharge, Luigi worked with the Queensland Police Service before joining ITQ in 2013. He brings a practical, disciplined, safety-focused approach to training and, outside of work, enjoys four-wheel driving and Lego.

Susan Latham

Compliance and Auditing

Susan Latham is part of the Compliance and Auditing team at ITQ, bringing extensive experience across vocational education and the resources and construction sectors. She began her career in Mt Isa before moving into workplace training and commenced her VET career in 2000. Susan has worked across drilling, mining, and civil construction in both industry and RTO settings, with roles including Trainer and Assessor, Training Advisor, and Training Coordinator, as well as program development and implementation. She transitioned into auditing and compliance work across multiple organisations and commenced full-time with ITQ in 2023. Outside of work, Susan enjoys bushwalking, music, and a good red wine.
