Description: The unit involves the skills and knowledge required to obtain a dangerous goods (DG) driver licence to transport DG by road.

Key features

The course covers all aspects of the ADG Code together with relevant legislation, including Dangerous Goods classifications, placarding, stowage and load restraint, segregation and compatibility, emergency procedures, and licensing requirements. The course is delivered classroom based. Completion of the training course ‘TLILIC0001 Course in the transport of dangerous goods by road’, certification as medically fit to drive by a general practitioner (GP), and a satisfactory driving history are prerequisites for obtaining the licence.

SUMMARY
The completion of the unit of competency will enable a person to meet the competency requirements for the application of a dangerous goods driver licence.

DURATION
This course is a 2-day course which runs monthly.

CERTIFICATION
After the student is deemed competent, they will be given a Statement of Attainment that they would need to present to Queensland Transport along with their application and dangerous goods medical, so they can receive their licence.
